Joseph N. Goff House Gazebo Concert Series Begins June 23 with Seat of Our Pants!

The Joseph N. Goff House 18th Annual Gazebo Concert Series begins Thursday, June 23  from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Center School Gazebo in the East Hampton Village Center, featuring a performance by "Seat of Our Pants," an acoustic, folk, blues and bluegrass group from Marlborough Connecticut. 

The series continues June 30 with familiar and original music in a lyrical jazz style by the "The Larry Gareau Quartet" ; July 14 features "Survivors Swing Band" performing great old tunes of the 20's through the 40's; July 21 features "Mischief-Us" performing an eclectic mix of classic Jazz, Bossanova, Blues and a dash of Classic Rock and July 28 features  a rousing performance by "The Ancient Mariners" Connecticut Fife & Drum Corps.

Listeners of all ages are welcome and encouraged to bring a blanket, chairs and picnics to enjoy during the shows. Cub Scout Troop 8 will sell refreshments. Rain location is the community hall at the Congregational Church of East Hampton.

For the first time this year, in collaboration with the East Hampton Parks and Recreation Department, the concert series will be extended through August with performances at the Sears Park Pavilion starting at 6 p.m.!

Aug. 4 features an Island Night theme with "Moto"  performing swaying, partying rhythms, Soca sounds and uplifting music;

Aug. 11 is Teen Night, featuring the local college band "The Flux" performing current hits and original music;

Aug. 18 is Family Night, featuring "We Got Rhythm!" a husband and wife modern song and dance team;

Aug. 25 is Classic Rock Night, featuring "MoJo JoJo" performing a mix of Blues, Motown, Classic and Modern Rock.

East Hampton Top 10 Students Exhibit Featured at the East Hampton Library Community Room

The Goff House Board of Directors in collaboration with the East Hampton Library and the superintendent of schools' office presented a display showcasing East Hampton High School's Top 10 students, graduating class 2016 on June 1 in the library community room. The real life students came with it, in a celebration of their accomplishments. We are pleased and proud to celebrate with them and share their accomplishments with the community.

Congratulations to the Top Ten students of the Class of 2016! The students will be recognized by the Joseph N. Goff House during a reception at the East Hampton Library on June 1 at 5:00 PM. This year's Top 10 Students include Kate Taylor-Valedictorian, Nicole Burns-Salutatorian, Carolyn Jedziniak, Austin Kelly, Kathleen Randall, Carli D'Antonio, Jordan Thomas, Alyssa Mercaldi, Sydney Georgiades, and Sarah Waterhouse

Goff House Board Requests Support for Annal Gazebo Concert Series

The Joseph N. Goff House Museum in East Hampton is once again asking for the support of individuals, local businesses and organizations to sponsor its Gazebo Music Series that takes place on four evenings in the summer at the Gazebo in East Hampton's Old Village Center.

This will be the 18th summer that the Joseph N. Goff House, Inc. will put on the Gazebo Music Series, which averages an attendance of 100 people per concert, and has become a popular annual summer event. Featured are a wide variety of musicians and musical genres from jazz, to rock to bluegrass.  This year the concerts are planned for June 23, Featuring Seat of Our Pants; June 30, featuring the Larry Gareau Quartet; July 14, featuring the Survivors Swing Band; additional dates include July 21 (Band To Be Determine)  and July 28, featuring The Ancient Mariners.

Sponsors are listed (by donation level - Tenor, $50 and Bass, $25) in public relations efforts and on fliers displayed around town and handed out at concerts. In addition, Chorus, Soprano and Alto sponsors ($300, $150 and $75 levels) are listed on a large banner that hangs on the gazebo during each concert.  Lastly, the MC acknowledges "Chorus" level sponsors during concert intermissions. Jingle Bell Parade Planned for Dec. 5 in the Village Center

 The annual Jingle Bell Parade will be held on Saturday, Dec. 5 featuring a performance by the East Hampton High School Jazz Ensemble from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the East Hampton Congregational Church Hall, 59 Main St., and a tree lighting at the big Evergreen on the Center School Lawn near the gazebo at 4:30 p.m. Santa will visit with the East Hampton Fire Department, local businesses will be open and the Joseph N. Goff House Museum, 2 Barton Hill Road, will provide refreshments. Come start the holiday season together at this fun community event hosted by the East Hampton Parks & Recreation Department. (Rain Date is Dec. 6 at 4 p.m. without the high school band) Bring a bell to ring in the holiday, or one will be provided!

Open Studio and Art Exhibit Planned for Nov. 8 Starting in the Village Center

East Hampton Arts & Culture Commission (EHACC) will host an Open Studio and Art Exhibit on Sunday, Nov. 8 from 2 to 5 p.m., during which East Hampton artist...s will open their art studios to the public, discuss and show their artwork and possibly provide demonstrations. Area artists will also exhibit and sell artwork at The Joseph N. Goff House Museum, 2 Barton Hill Road and the Congregational Church of East Hampton Community Hall, 59 Main St. Maps with biographies of participating studios will be distributed at The Goff House Museum the day of the event and The Space, 64 Main St., will offer a drawing opportunity with Gil Salk, a live, clothed model - all supplies provided - carlamwac@gmail.com for information.
Old Bank Flowers, Art & Marketplace, 66 Main St., will also be exhibiting the work of local artists on Nov. 8, Creations Framing and Gallery, 95 Main St., will hold a sale on framed and unframed artwork and the Epoch Arts, 27 Skinner St., will hold “Artopia" a fundraiser featuring student and local artists' artwork, live music, art demonstrations, food, kids crafts, a silent auction and more from 4 to 6 p.m. A suggested donation of $5 will be collected. www.epocharts.org for information.
